Widow Sponsorship Project
Due to severe sickness and numerous tragedies, millions of women throughout the world have become “widowed.” In third world and developing nations, where FHP serves, the impact and devastation to families from the loss of a husband, father and provider, is greatly magnified.
Women have been left to struggle on their own to take care of themselves and raise her children. In theses nations It is common for household incomes to be less then $30 per month. An amount that is grossly inadequate to provide for families with upwards of four and five, and more children.
FHP’s Widow Sponsorship Project is designed to provide a much needed source of income for the women in our program. We are providing monthly financial assistance, and for those who qualify, we offer a Micro-Credit Program, which includes a small “repayable” loan, and expert guidance to help the widows begin, or grow a business to help them transition to a point of “self-sufficiency.”
There are three ways to Get Involved with our Widow Sponsorship Project:
1) For a donation of $50 per month, you can become a Sponsor of one or these women. If this interests you, please Click here for our Kisumu – Widow Sponsorship Project , and you will see the profiles of the women who are available for sponsorship.
2) You can contribute to the Widow Sponsorship Project - General Fund through a Monthly or One-Time Donation. The reality is that the $50 Monthly Donation ($600 annual) doesn't cover the full cost of supporting a Widow, so your contribution to the General Fund will greatly benefit this Project. If this interests you, please click this Widow Sponsorship Project - General Fund link to go to our Donations page.
3) You can contribute to the Widow’s Micro-Credit Project. The funds in this Program will be used to help our Widows launch and grow a small business, through a small “repayable” loan, designed to bring them to a place of ‘self-sufficiency.” If this interests you, please click this Widow Sponsorship Project - Micro-Credit Project link to go to our Donations page.
